The sight of housekeeping personnel rolling tilt carts of soiled linens in and out of elevators or through the sparkling lobby that your hospital just spent a ton of money renovating has always been considered a necessary nuisance. But one company says it doesn’t have to be.
A Web site from Newark, Del.-based Precision AirConvey Corp. details the company’s automated waste and soiled linen handling system that takes bags from multiple load stations on each floor of a facility, pneumatically whisks them through ductwork in the walls, and deposits them in two central locations—one for compacting and removing refuse, one for laundering linens. And it all happens out of sight of patients and guests.
The site, www.automatedwastecollection.com, also explains the engineering concepts behind the system and provides installation, maintenance and contact information.
