When it comes to boosting patient satisfaction, hospitals try everything from improving clinicians’ bedside manner to offering a glass of wine with dinner. Now add one more item to the growing list of patient amenities: plush PJs that cover your derriere.
The fashion and home merchandise company KN Ltd./Karen Neuburger is marketing a new line of hospitalwear made of a cotton-poly blend fabric designed to become softer the more you wash it, while also providing something every patient wants: dignity. Initially launched in 2005 in a partnership with Stanford (Calif.) Hospital & Clinics, the line includes pajama tops, drawstring pants, infant onesies, and mammogram, IV/telemetry and unisex hospital gowns that offer full coverage in the back. The garments also have tie closures along the sleeves to give clinicians access that is more...discreet.
