Ex-TX prosecutor convicted of retaliating against 2 nurses
Former Winkler County Attorney Scott Tidwell has been sentenced to 120 days in jail. Tidwell was found guilty on six counts by a Howard County jury on Monday. Tidwell was charged with two counts each of Misuse of Official Information, Retaliation and Official Oppression. Those charges came about from Tidwell's prosecution of two Winkler County nurses who reported a doctor to the Texas Medical Board. The prosecution started the morning on Tuesday by calling several former prostitutes who Tidwell had allegedly been with in the past. Tidwell has been charged with promoting prostitution and was named in the now infamous Healing Touch scandal in Odessa several years ago. The prosecution also called a woman to the stand who claimed Tidwell had paid her for sex in the past year. The prosecution even had a video of Tidwell last year in Victoria Secrets with another woman.
