Boston Business Journal, February 3, 2014
Beth Israel Deaconess-Milton improved its financial fortunes by nabbing patients from its nearby rivals during fiscal 2013, the community hospital's first full year as part of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center system. Regulatory documents show that BID-Milton saw a 36-percent increase in the number of discharges for patients from Weymouth, where South Shore Hospital is located, during the most recent fiscal year. BID-Milton also grew year-over-year discharges by 15 percent from Dorchester, where Steward Health Care System-owned Carney Hospital is located and by 7 percent from Quincy, home of Steward-owned Quincy Medical Center.
