Humana, University of Louisville doctors remain at impasse

Humana and U of L Physicians, an umbrella group for 460 university doctors, severed relations that day. The physicians group says Humana asked members to accept a 10 percent cut in what the insurer pays; the doctors instead asked for a 10 percent increase.

About 12,000 patients are affected by the impasse, said Dr. Jerry Rabalais, president and board chairman of U of L Physicians. The two sides haven't had a negotiating session since September, he said.

“We're at a stalemate,” Rabalais said.
