KS health system brainstorming to find $100M
St. Luke's Health System expects to report in the next few weeks the results of its seven-month effort to find $100 million in cost cuts or revenue growth. The effort, dubbed Focus2015, has involved more than 200 employees working in 30 groups to come up with ideas to improve efficiency. A steering committee of top hospital executives and physicians is evaluating the suggestions. The St. Luke’s process, which has captured public attention, is likely to "touch nearly every department in the health system," according to hospital officials. Some jobs are expected to be changed or eliminated, but no definite actions have been announced yet.
