St. Barnabas Hospital deploys EMR from Eclipsys

HealthLeaders News Brief, May 1, 2007
St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY, has activated clinical documentation software from Eclipsys in the pediatric divisions at all three of its ambulatory care centers. In a statement, the hospital said it has achieved 100-percent physician adoption of the software.

"The activation went more smoothly than I could have ever imagined," said Harry Shuman, MD, MPH, senior vice president at St. Barnabas Hospital. "Many of our patients are members of managed Medicaid programs and, for these patients, the state mandates certain age, sex and diagnosis specific follow-up visits and testing. The next functionality we plan to activate is programmed alerts in Sunrise Ambulatory Care to identify the ongoing needs of these patients, no matter where they present. This capability was a key factor in our decision to choose Eclipsys' solution over the competition."
