At any safety-net hospital, a staff of people determine which cases are eligible for reimbursement through government-subsidized programs. Many hospitals do the job internally, but others get better results using outside eligibility specialists.
Denver Health turned to Atlanta-based Chamberlin Edmonds. "Their people came in with the expertise to do the job. They dealt with issues swiftly. And the cash is coming in," said Peg Burnette, CFO.
