Medpedia launches to join the ranks of social encyclopedias A new social encyclopedia is launching today with the goal of offering yet another platform for patients and providers to interact with each other. Unlike its "pedia" predecessors (Wikipedia, Wookieepedia, Lostpedia) Medpedia only allows contributions from trained professionals and all contributors will have individual author pages detailing their qualifications and backgrounds. Already the project has received contributions from some pretty heavy hitters in the medical community, including: Harvard Medical School, the National Health Service in England, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley.
