The report suggested that government health promotion and prevention programs for pre-Medicare and Medicare populations could save the country as much as $1.4 trillion over 10 years?and add on average as many as 6 years on Medicare beneficiaries' lives. Florida Medicaid clients dropped in computer failure
In another black eye for the Florida Medicaid program, the state reports that roughly 1 million of Florida's 2.6 million Medicaid patients were mistakenly deleted from eligibility rolls. The state Agency for Health Care Administration said state officials don't know the cause of the problem, but say the problem has been fixed. Out of that roughly 1 million, about 400,000 of people who were deleted were in managed care programs. Can you imagine the uproar and Congressional hearings if it were a health insurer and not a state Medicaid program that lost 1 million patients because of a computer error? [Read More]
