MARYVILLE, TN: Puckett Named Blount Memorial CIO
Clay Puckett has been named Blount Memorial Hospital's CIO and assistant administrator. Puckett joins Blount Memorial after working nine years for Carolinas HealthCare System, which serves 33 hospitals in North and South Carolina. Puckett most recently worked as senior director of information systems at Carolinas HealthCare System, where he was responsible for senior technology leadership for two health care systems affiliated with Carolinas HealthCare System. NEW YORK: CEO, president named at NYPH
The Board of Trustees of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital has announced its chief executive officer and president, who will replace Herbert Pardes, MD, who now holds both titles. Steven J. Corwin, MD, will serve as CEO and Robert E. Kelly, MD, was named president and will report to Corwin. When Pardes announced that he was stepping down a few years ago, the hospital began a national search for his replacement, but both appointments come from within the hospital. They become effective on Sep. 6.[Read More]

LAS VEGAS: CEO named at UMC
Brian Brannman, who for three years served as COO of the University Medical Center, has been appointed by Clark County Manager Don Burnette as CEO of the hospital. CEO Kathy Silver announced in May that she was retiring July 1 after 4½ years at the helm. [Read More]

ANN ARBOR, MI: U-M Hospitals & Health Centers CEO to chair Michigan Health & Hospital
The leader of the University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers will now also be the elected leader of the state hospital association. Doug Strong, CEO of UMHHC, will become the chair of the board of trustees of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, or MHA, starting today. At the organization's annual meeting on Mackinac Island, Strong laid out his goals for his one-year term of office. They include continuing to enhance the state of Michigan's reputation as a leader in improving the quality and efficiency of patient care, and shifting the healthcare industry's focus to an effort to address the health and health care needs of populations of Michiganders, not just individual care episodes. GLENDALE, CA: Glendale Adventist president resigns
The CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center is resigning after nearly five years to take a similar job in his home state of Colorado. Morre Dean, 42, president/CEO of Glendale Adventist, told staff in what was described as an emotional meeting that he will leave the 450-bed hospital Aug. 5 for the same position at the 160-bed Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, CO south of Denver. A search for Dean's replacement has begun. Roseville-based Adventist Health runs Glendale Adventist and 17 other hospitals. [Read More]

ELMIRA, NY: Arnot Health names managment team
Arnot Health, formed following the New York State Public Health and Health Planning Council approval of the Certificate of Need to consolidate Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital, has announced the new senior leadership team. Anthony J. Cooper has been named president/ CEO of Arnot Health. He has served as AOMC CEO since 1986. Fred Farley has been promoted to the position of president/COO of Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital. Farley has served as COO and chief nursing officer at AOMC since 1990. James B. Watson will remain president/COO at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath, a post he has held since 1997. [Read More]

MADRAS, OR: Gentry Named Mt. View CEO
The Mt. View Hospital Board of Directors announced that Jeanine Gentry will become the new CEO, ending eight months of searching. Gentry is currently vice president of Allied Health Services for St. John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby, MT. She will assume CEO responsibilities on August 15th.[Read More]

ANNAPOLIS, MD: New CEO takes over at Anne Arundel Health System
Anne Arundel Health System is now under the direction of Victoria W. Bayless. Bayless took over as chief executive officer of the entire health system, which includes Anne Arundel Medical Center in Parole, on Friday, according to a release from the hospital. She replaces longtime CEO Martin L. "Chip" Doordan, who recently retired. [Read More]

PITTSBURGH: Rogalski's contract renewed at Excela
Excela Health has renewed the contract for CEO Robert Rogalski, the Greensburg-based hospital network announced on Thursday. Rogalski joined the Excela Health board in late 2009 and then served as transition CEO, replacing interim CEO Kim Hollon. He was named permanent CEO in February 2010. [Read More]

PHOENIX: Dennis Lund, MD, Joins Phoenix Children's Hospital as EVP
Dennis Lund, MD has joined Phoenix Children's Hospital as executive vice president of the Phoenix Children's Medical Group and surgeon-in-chief. Lund is responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for Phoenix Children's Medical Group, the nearly 200 physicians employed by the hospital. Lund comes to the hospital from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was professor of surgery and served as chairman of general surgery and surgeon-in-chief at the American Family Children's Hospital.
