MILWAUKEE, WI: Froedtert Health Names Five to Leadership Roles
Froedtert Health has appointed five executives to the organization, effective immediately. Jeffrey Van De Kreeke, senior vice president of finance for Froedtert Health, has been promoted to CFO. Charles Runge, who has been with Froedtert Hospital since 1995, has been named senior vice president of planning and service line development for Froedtert Health. Joseph Hill, who joined Froedtert Health in 2010 as executive director and chief diversity officer, has been promoted to vice president and chief diversity officer. Patricia Ruff has been promoted to vice president of clinical integration and payer strategies. Paul Spencer has joined Froedtert Health as assistant vice president for managed care. Spencer previously served as vice president of network management for United Healthcare of Wisconsin. [Read More]

Dorothy A. Coleman has been hired as executive vice president/CFO for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and its parent corporation, The Lifetime Healthcare Companies, officials have announced. Currently serving in the same capacity for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Coleman will be replacing Zeke Duda upon his retirement after 39 years of service for the company that serves about 1.8 million upstate New York members. Jodi J. Mansfeld, a former COO for Shands HealthCare in Florida, is now leading UA Healthcare. Mansfield takes over from Hank Wells, who resigned as interim CEO due to health concerns. Following a five-month search for a CEO, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center that Sharif Omar has been appointed to the position. Omar, who joined the hospital as COO in 2009, had served as interim CEO since March when then-CEO John J. After 17 years of leading Goshen Hospital and Health System, Indiana University Health Goshen CEO/President James O. Dague has announced plans to retire. In 1995, Dague came to Goshen hospital, which was struggling with a difficult financial situation, changing trends in health care, and not enough physicians to respond to the community needs, according to IU Goshen Hospital officials. Provena Health officials have promoted Beth Hughes to president/CEO of Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center from her current role as executive vice president/COO. She succeeds Jeff Brickman, who resigned following eight years of service to accept a position as president of the five-hospital Mountains North Denver Operating Group of Centura Health System in Colorado, where he will also serve as president and CEO of its flagship, St. Anthony Hospital. QUINCY, MA: QMC promotes CFO to CEO
Quincy Medical Center will have a CEO to guide it through the bankruptcy process and into the arms of acquirer Steward Health Care System. The hospital's board of trustees has decided to promote Mark O'Neill, a Hingham resident who has been CFO at the hospital for nearly four years, to the top job at the hospital. O'Neill will replace John Kastanis, a hospital turnaround specialist from New York who was hired in May 2010 as an interim CEO. Kastanis played a crucial role in lining up a deal to sell the hospital to Steward Health Care System, an arrangement that hinges on the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing that the hospital made last month. MOULTRIE, GA: Matney named CEO at Colquitt RMC
James L. Matney, CEO of Smith-Northview Hospital in Valdosta, has been named Colquitt Regional Medical Center's president/CEO, replacing longtime CEO Jim Lowry, who is retiring Sept. 30. The Colquitt County Hospital Authority voted to hire Matney as CEO after narrowing the field of candidates to two finalists two weeks earlier. Matney is expected to begin around Sept. 1.[Read More]

The Knoxville (IA) Hospital & Clinics Board of Directors has named Knoxville native Kevin Kincaid as CEO. Kincaid comes from Dallas County Hospital in Perry, TX, where he has been serving as their COO. [Read More]

CREVE COEUR, MO: Johnston named president at St. John's Mercy MC
Jeffrey A. Johnston, a Sisters of Mercy Health System Inc. executive, has been named president of St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, MO. Johnston joined the non-profit Mercy health system in 2001. Since December 2008, he has served as president of St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Ark., where he expanded Mercy's physician group. Saint Agnes Medical Center has named Nancy Hollingsworth president/CEO of the hospital. She had been serving in an interim capacity since February. Hollingsworth will be the fourth person to head the hospital in six years. [Read More]

ROSEVILLE, CA: Tetz Named Interim CEO of Glendale Adventist MC
Warren L. Tetz, 55, has been named interim president/CEO of Glendale Adventist Medical Center effective Aug. 5. Tetz has worked at GAMC since 1999, originally as CFI and since 2002 as the Senior Vice President for Operations/COO. A search is underway to find a permanent replacement for Morre Dean, current president and CEO, who is transferring to serve as the president/CEO of Parker Adventist Hospital in Parker, CO. MARIETTA, GA: Jennings sole finalist for WellStar CEO job
Reynold Jennings of Kennesaw, GA, a former COO of Tenet Healthcare with 35 years experience in hospital management, was selected as the sole finalist for the position of president/CEO of WellStar Health System, Board of Trustees Chairman Randall Bentley Sr. announced. Bentley made the announcement during Thursday's board meeting, at which Jennings was present. Because WellStar is a public agency, it is subject to the Open Records Act, which requires the organization to name any CEO finalist 14 days in advance of a vote to hire him. The board is expected to vote on his appointment at a specially called Aug. 18 meeting. Jim Budzinski, who has served as WellStar's interim CEO since the board abruptly fired CEO Greg Simone, MD, in September, will return to his role as executive vice president/CFO. [Read More]
