Easing the pain of high-deductible health plans In another example of payer-driven technology, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee is starting a pilot "real-time claims adjudication system." It enables providers to enter a patient's information into a Web site to find out exactly how much they owe for the visit so they can pay the proper amount before leaving the office.
