Low HCAHPS Scores at Safety Net Hospitals Examined

On nearly every measure of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Plans Survey patient experience questionnaire, safety net hospitals scored 5.6 percentage points lower than their non-safety net counterparts, a review of survey responses shows. Researchers offer two explanations for the disparity.
