MedPAC Releases SGR Repeal Proposal

Congress should repeal the controversial Sustainable Growth Rate, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission says in a draft proposal. To offset an estimated $300 billion in losses, primary care physicians' pay would be frozen for 10 years and payments to about 30 other healthcare services and professions would be trimmed.
