Patients receiving radiation are exposing the public to dangerous levels of radioactive isotopes, according to Rep. Edward J. Markey, (D-MA). The Nuclear Regulatory Commission should mandate hospitalization for radiation patients receiving doses above accepted thresholds and enhance oversight of medical licensees to solve this problem, he says.
