$628M in MA health cost control initiatives approved

Seven of the state's hospitals that serve the highest percentage of Medicaid patients will benefit from $628 million in state and federal funding to implement some of the Patrick administration's healthcare cost control initiatives over the next three years. Gov. Deval L. Patrick announced approval of the funds by the Obama administration Monday along with federal approval of the state’s master plan for transforming medical care delivery systems. The funding plan includes $382 million in federal Medicaid funds and $246 million in state health care money.
