The move comes two months after the Lisle, Illinois–based Catholic health system named its new CEO.

AMITA Health named Richard Douglas "Doug" Carter, CPA as the system's new chief financial officer (CFO) Monday afternoon, according to a press release.

Carter, who served as system vice president of finance for St. Louis-based SSM Health, will start his new role at AMITA on April 13.

The move comes two months after the Lisle, Illinois–based Catholic health system named Keith A. Parrott, FACHE as its new CEO.

"We are excited to have Doug join AMITA Health,” Parrot said in a statement. "He brings a wealth of experience in healthcare finance to our system, with both faith-based and secular health systems, including financial leadership over controllership,
budgeting, forecasting, reimbursement, managed care, revenue cycle, and workforce management."

Before his time at SSM, Carter served as CFO at Des Peres Hospital, Forest Park Hospital, and Creighton University Medical Center, among other facilities and markets under Tenet Healthcare.
