Chicago's Holy Cross Hospital agrees to settle in pension case

Chicago's Holy Cross Hospital has agreed to pay millions of dollars to settle a lawsuit over whether it should have had to follow a federal law designed to protect employee pensions despite its religious affiliation. Holy Cross has agreed to pay $4 million as part of the settlement. It also will distribute the $5 million left in its pension plan. The money will go to about 2,000 pension plan participants and beneficiaries.
