Hospital operator Community Health Systems Inc. said Wednesday it would post a third-quarter loss as it recorded a 10% drop in operating revenue and further reduced the value of its hospitals. Shares, which have lost more than half of their value this year, fell 20% in after-hours trading to $8, below the 52-week-low set in August.
