DeKalb County likely will not cut Grady Memorial Hospital money

DeKalb County, GA, likely will not cut its funding to Atlanta-baed Grady Memorial Hospital, a county commissioner told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Two commissioners met with Grady leaders to discuss whether the county could reduce its annual $23-million contribution to the hospital. Commissioner Connie Stokes requested the meeting after the Journal-Constitution reported a 2009 audit determined the hospital had an almost $10-million surplus.
