Despite growing losses, Aurora Health Care will keep Aurora Sinai Medical Center open and continue to provide the same services. Aurora Sinai is one of two hospitals that serve the predominantly low-income neighborhoods in Milwaukee's central city. Late last year, Aurora said it was looking at various options to stem its losses at the hospital, which have soared, going from $1.1 million in 2010 to a projected $20 million in 2011, according to an Aurora estimate last year. Those losses were expected to deepen even further in 2012. The hospital, which employs 1,375 people, now expects to report a loss of about $17 million for 2011.
