Executives from Miami-based Jackson Health System reported they're making progress improving the troubled public hospitals' cash situation. Cash acceleration efforts in the billing and collections department added $31.4 million and cash report settlements added another $31.9 million. At a meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee for Sustainability and Restructuring, Jackson officials said those figures were part of a "very strong March" for the system, which was expected to lose $229.4 million this year before changes were implemented.
