The Florida Legislature has included $50 million for Jackson Health System in the proposed state budget and the Miami-Dade County manager sent four county administrators to help the beleaguered hospital group get out of its financial quagmire. Mayor Carlos Alvarez thanked Rep. David Rivera, R- Miami, for leading the effort to get the funds under certain conditions, including Congress voting to give more Medicaid dollars to the states. Jackson must also offer some guarantees that its operations are being run efficiently, the Miami Herald reports.
