The Kansas City Council is expected to make official some significant cuts in city funding for a variety of healthcare providers. The biggest cuts: $1.7 million for Truman Medical Center and $1 million for the city's ambulance service. A number of other health safety-net providers also will receive trims of about 6% to 6.7%, including Children's Mercy Hospital, Swope Parkway Health Center, the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, Northland Health Care Access, and the Cabot Westside Clinic.
