The majority of Ohioans won't be directly affected by the new marketplace setup; most who are younger than 65 still will get health insurance through their employer or Medicaid. Under Obamacare, about 7 million U.S. residents are expected to buy coverage through state marketplaces in 2014, and about 6 million will get subsidies, the Congressional Budget Office has said. Nationwide, about $23 billion in federal funding will help make the marketplaces run in fiscal year 2014, including $16 billion in premium credits. The average marketplace subsidy is expected to be $5,290 annually per person. Small businesses (those with fewer than 100 employees) and uninsured individuals can buy insurance through the marketplace, or exchange.
