UPMC challenges comments by nonprofit business group

UPMC has taken on a business advocacy group over comments made to state regulators about the Pittsburgh health system’s acquisition of a 317-bed hospital in Jamestown, N.Y. New York regulators approved UPMC’s takeover of WCA Hospital June 9, following a hearing with testimony from critics that included Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner and the union that has been trying to organize UPMC workers for several years.
