LONG ISLAND, NY: McManus appointed Catholic Health Services CEO

Catholic Health Services of Long Island has named Lawrence E. McManus, the former CFO and COO of a Connecticut hospital and a certified public accountant, as its new president and CEO. McManus will take the helm April 16 at the healthcare arm of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. McManus succeeds Richard J.J. Sullivan Jr., chairman of the CHS board, who served on a voluntary basis as chief executive after James Harden retired in July 2011 after eight years in the position. Harden also had spent 22 years in senior executive positions at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. McManus since 2008 served as COO and CFO St. Raphael Healthcare System, in New Haven, CT. Prior to Saint Raphael, McManus was vice president and CFO at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ.
