What’s Inside: Peer-Driven Data and Analysis

The priorities and concerns of 1,500 of your colleagues in healthcare leadership are revealed in this comprehensive multi-part survey. The overall report contains answers to all the common questions asked of every respondent. In addition, we have individual reports—with sector-specific questions crafted especially for leadership, finance, technology, physician, nurse, quality, marketing, and health plan leaders. We also extract leadership data based on rural and non-rural status. And, again this year we present our Service Lines Report, in which leaders tell us where they expect growth.

About this Survey

The 2011 HealthLeaders Media Industry Survey was conducted by the HealthLeaders Media Intelligence Unit. In October 2010, print and online surveys were sent to the HealthLeaders Media Council and select members of the HealthLeaders Media audience. The study is based on eight concurrent surveys sent to healthcare leaders in eight segments across the industry: leadership, finance, technology, marketing, quality, physician, nurse, and health plan. In addition, data has been extracted based on community and rural status. The surveys included some common questions for all respondents and some questions directed at leaders in specific segments; some benchmarking questions from the 2010 and 2009 editions are included. A total of 1,497 completed surveys are included in the analysis. The margin of error for a sample size of 1,497 is +/- 2.5 percentage points. Percentage totals do not always add up to 100% due to rounding.
