Ten Louisvillians will be among the 18 board members who will govern the health care system that will be created by merging University Hospital, Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare, and St. Joseph Health System of Lexington. The appointees to the still-unnamed organization's board of trustees were announced Wednesday. Three are from Lexington; four are from elsewhere in Kentucky; and one is from Colorado, home of Catholic Health Initiatives, which owns St. Joseph and will own 70% of the new system. The board's chairman is Bob Hewett, a retired utility and banking executive in Lexington and a longtime St. Joseph board member.
