Family of KY woman sues Hospital after flash flooding

The family of a Louisville mother of three is suing Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare, Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital and doctor groups, saying she couldn't get needed surgery because inpatient operating rooms at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth weren't available in time after last year's flash flooding.

Jewish & St. Mary's officials said the hospital was “thoughtfully and measurably reopened in stages” and ready with resources necessary to care for patients.

The lawsuit, filed Nov. 23 in Jefferson Circuit Court, alleges medical negligence was a substantial factor in the death of Kimberle Lynn White on Sept. 4, 2009.
