Mayo-Franciscan in La Crosse, Onalaska tapped for major cancer trial

Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare facilities in La Crosse and Onalaska are aiming to recruit 6,000 women for a nationwide clinical trial of 120,000 women to gauge whether blood tests can be developed to detect breast cancer early. GRAIL Inc., a life sciences company based in Menlo Park, Calif., dedicated to early detection of cancer when it is more curable, announced the trial, called the STRIVE Study, Thursday.
