Saint Thomas Health is partnering with Capella Healthcare to create a joint venture that would jointly own and operate the Capella chain's four hospitals in Middle Tennessee's Upper Cumberland Plateau and potentially acquire others. Under the letter of intent signed Monday, the Saint Thomas Health Network will hold an equity interest in the hospitals and bring additional services in areas such as cardiology to communities such as McMinnville, Sparta, Smithville and Woodbury, TN. Capella will be the managing member and majority partner in the new venture and the exclusive development partner for Saint Thomas Health across Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
