The University of South Florida is proposing new regulations to discourage conflicts of interest involving its medical staff and private health care companies. One goal is to raise the C grade it received last year from the American Medical Student Association. But mainly it's an effort to deal with the nationwide problem of private medical companies paying doctors, directly and indirectly, to promote their products and services, USF College of Medicine Dean Stephen Klasko said at a Board of Trustees committee meeting Thursday.
