While undergoing a tough chemotherapy regimen, Ms. Javadizadeh used her skills as a former managing director at J.P. Morgan and launched a fundraising effort for cholangiocarcinoma. In a six-week period earlier this year, she raised more than $180,000, which was transferred, through a division of Sloan Kettering, directly to Dr. Abou-Alfa's efforts.
