Thousands of Humana customers should expect to pay more to visit University of Louisville doctors starting Thursday because of a pay dispute between the insurer and the doctors' group. Humana and UofL Physicians, which includes about 460 doctors, had until midnight Wednesday to agree on a new contract, but the doctors group issued a statement Wednesday evening saying no talks had been held and that an agreement was not expected. As a result, patients with commercial Humana plans such as PPOs and HMOs, usually provided through employers, should expect to pay out-of-network fees to see their UofL doctors, or find other in-network doctors.
