Needlesticks strike in all healthcare settings

Educating workers in all healthcare settings about the hazards of blood exposure from sharps is the focus of Prevent Needlestick Injuries.

The Premier Safety Institute, Charlotte, NC, published the brochure for its 47,000 members and is making the download free for all healthcare facilities.

"Worker safety is paramount in today's complex and fast-paced healthcare environment," said Gina Pugliese, RN, MS, vice president at Premier Safety Institute. "Caregivers owe it to themselves, their families, and their patients to reduce risk of infection from needlesticks," she said.
