Ex-NH hospital worker's lawyer: Fall trial likely

A traveling hospital worker accused of stealing drugs and infecting patients with hepatitis C through contaminated syringes probably won't stand trial in New Hampshire until October, his lawyer said Tuesday. David Kwiatkowski, whom prosecutors have called a "serial infector," pleaded not guilty this month to 14 federal charges of tampering with a consumer product and illegally obtaining drugs. His trial is scheduled for February, but lawyers on both sides have said it likely would be delayed, given the case's complexity.
