After a review prompted by one patient's sexual assault of another, federal officials have cleared Louisville, KY-based University Hospital to continue treating Medicare patients. Since the incident occurred March 11, hospital officials have tightened procedures for handling emergency patients who need extra security, according to a corrective plan the hospital filed with state officials. Changes included assigning a security officer to the emergency room and making monitoring of security patients the officer's primary responsibility, according to the plan.
