Mental health advocate criticizes Inova in deadly shooting

There is strong criticism against Inova Fairfax Hospital in the shooting death of a man who was released from the emergency room. The man was shot by a sheriff's deputy on August 15, 2016. The 29-year-old man who was shot spoke little English. He used the term "loco" and also pointed to his head while saying "voices." The Merrifield Crisis Center is about a two-minute drive from the hospital's ER. Instead, Gomez was released from the hospital.
