Quality Improvement by State: Average Risk-Adjusted In-Hospital Mortality Rate
Average in-hospital risk-adjusted mortality rates improved 22% nationally for the most common 16 procedures and conditions in 2005-2011, according to the Healthgrades analyses. But the report also notes that while rates for some procedures and conditions are improving, others are declining. Even in local service areas there are quality disparities, according to the analyses.
