Low patient volumes drive Tenet Healthcare to cut annual forecast; shares fall

Shares of Tenet Healthcare dipped more than 10 percent Monday after the Dallas-based health system reported a higher-than-expected second quarter loss and slashed its forecast on annual revenue. Tenet attributed the miss to a decline in patient volume and higher rates of uncompensated care, among other factors. The hospital chain is one of several to miss it earnings in recent weeks.
