Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts announces deployment of Portico identifier

Portico Systems announced that Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts has successfully deployed its Portico NPI software, in support of compliance with the National Provider Identifier as mandated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Portico’s NPI package is comprised of NPI Registrar, an NPI collection, verification and workflow application; NPI Gateway, an integration tool; NPI Provider, a support application for provider operations staff; and Portico Foundation, a services-oriented crosswalk data repository.
