Alta Bates Medical Group chooses Panoratio
HealthLeaders News Brief, June 12, 2007
Interactive data discovery and analysis tools will enable one of Northern California's leading healthcare providers to improve quality of care while reducing costs.
Oakland-based Alta Bates Medical Group announced it has purchased data discovery and analytic software from Panoratio. "The challenge is to be able to combine large, multi-year data sets, and analyze them quickly", said Louis Wu, associate medical director for ABMG. "As we deepen our knowledge of practice variation studies -- fueled by the ongoing Wennberg research coming out of Dartmouth -- we increasingly look to our data to provide directional information that will lead to optimal care for our members."
ABMG's 600 physicians manage approximately 70 thousand members. Using the software, the group will analyze 2 years of claims, pharmacological and lab data from multiple vendors in order to better understand practice and treatment variations, efficacy, and cost savings opportunities.
ABMG is owned and operated by its 600 medical doctors; 200 of which are primary care physicians and 400 are specialty physicians.
