New Nurses Find Jobs Scarce in Poor Economy
For years, healthcare touted nursing as a recession-proof job. Across the country, hospitals are cutting back on hiring, nurses are adding more shifts or delaying retiring, and the nursing vacancies that once gave HR recruiters grey hairs are a thing of the past (at least for now).

Hospitals created a lot of payroll additions thru Sep this year, a rate of job creation that is more than double that for the same period in 2008(BLS). There's no reluctance in searching for and hiring nurses in the hospitals we see.
