HIT Barriers to Patient Engagement Persist
The correlation between accountable care models and healthcare information technology that connects and engages patients permeates conversations at The Center for Connected Health annual symposium in Boston.
I like this comment by Dr. Kvedar: "I don't necessarily think that's a bad idea because I can't imagine anyone [creating an accountable care organization] without an EHR," ... but who are we kidding... we can't even get our doctors to get a website. This was an amazing conference for physicians, health IT experts, and health care executives. Great presentations... and amazing discussions in the hallways!
