Hospitals Lag in Workforce Diversity
If a hospital's workforce more closely resembles the patient population it serves, quality measures and patient satisfaction scores will improve. But when it comes to diversity in the workforce, hospitals are not leading the way, a study shows.

I believe that one of the main reasons there is not enough diversity in hospital employees is the lack of education and training in other cultures and ethnic groups. Diversity training is very important for all facilities who serve diverse patient populations and should be mandatory for ALL employees annually.
