A $215 million legal settlement stemming from a class-action lawsuit against a University of Southern California gynecologist has been filed in federal court for approval. Dr. George Tyndall, a gynecologist at the school from 1989 to 2016, faced accusations from dozens of women that detailed sexual abuse and harassment spanning 30 years.
Quincy Medical Group says it is moving forward with its plans for a new surgery center after the health provider was approached with a new joint venture regarding the current facility from Blessing Health System. QMG proposed a new $19-million outpatient surgical center back in 2018. The proposal set the medical provider at odds with Blessing Health system.
A review by the Ohio Department of Health of records for 27 patients shows that in 24 cases a Mount Carmel West hospital doctor was able to access high doses of powerful pain medications by using overrides to get past warnings and, in most cases, pharmacist pre-approvals.

Allentown health care provider Coordinated Health has filed a lawsuit to prevent Bethlehem-based St. Luke's University Health Network from barring Coordinated Health physicians from a St. Luke's hospital.
A corrective action plan for Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is now under review. Hospital officials submitted their plans to the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services before the Sunday deadline. Parents whose children that have been treated at the hospital are concerned about their insurance.
