A Johns Hopkins nurse alleged "all the same problems" are still seen in the hospital, months after a group of registered nurses accused management of violating federal labor laws and impeding unionization efforts. The National Nurses Organizing Committee/National Nurses United filed an unfair labor practice charge this summer with the National Labor Relations Board, alleging Hopkins Hospital management staff have blocked the nurses from organizing and promoted an "anti-union agenda" in the hospital.

On Wednesday night, the Washington State Nurses Association organized a meeting with nurses and lawmakers to share what it’s like as a nurse. Just last month, a Kadlec nurse was almost choked to death by a patient, and two days ago, a man with a gun threatened employees at Kadlec.

Baby nurses work 22-hour days and don't take a day off until three or four weeks after the baby is born. They make between $600 and $750 a day on average, and sometimes up to $800.
Registered nurses in Massachusetts are mostly satisfied with their jobs and divided over a ballot question limiting how many patients can be assigned to each nurse in hospitals and health care facilities, according to new poll results. The WBUR poll of 500 registered nurses found 48 percent support Question 1, 45 percent oppose it, while 8 percent don't know, are undecided or refused to answer the question.
More than 3,900 nursing-related job vacancies are expected in Vermont between now and spring of 2020, according to a new survey of health care providers. The survey, conducted by Vermont Talent Pipeline Management, also shows that only 26 percent of those positions are projected to be new jobs. The remainder will be “replacement hires” because of retirements and nurses leaving their jobs.
The University of Michigan's health system reached a final agreement with the nurses' union, averting a potential strike, it announced Thursday. The announcement comes 12 days after Michigan Medicine and the University of Michigan Professional Nurses Council (UMPNC) reached a tentative agreement and less than a month after nurses authorized a strike in a landslide vote.
