The largest healthcare system in Michigan has officially been named. Beaumont Health, based in Metro Detroit, and Spectrum Health, based in Grand Rapids, have merged to form a major nonprofit healthcare organization. The system, operating under the name temporary name of BHSH System since its launch in January, has officially decided on a permanent name: Corewell Health.
Brittney Weis has been named Director of Marketing and Communications for Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System. Weis is a tenured marketing and communications leader who will oversee internal, external, and strategic communications for the health system, while also focusing on marketing and branding.
It's not new news that the community health care mainstay Methodist Hospital is now USC Arcadia Hospital. The billboard that greets you as you enter the San Gabriel Valley off the 710 Freeway in Pasadena makes you well aware of USC's growing presence farther east of Los Angeles city. But this week, hospital, university, and elected officials christened the partnership that they say will keep the hospital alive in an age when the population is swelling — along with demand for healthcare services.
Islanders will continue to see more integration of the Massachusetts General Brigham (MGB) brand at Martha's Vineyard Hospital, but Denise Schepici, CEO and president of the Island hospital, told The Times patient care won't change. Schepici said the brand changes have been slowly implemented over the past two years at the hospital, but signs outside the building aren't likely to be adjusted until sometime in the spring because they must go through the local planning process.
Intermountain Healthcare will shorten its name in 2023 to Intermountain Health. The name change is meant to signal an "increased emphasis on whole health-focused initiatives" while staying true to Intermountain’s "rich foundation of providing extraordinary care for the communities it serves," according to a news release.
